Meet Our Priest
The Rev. Canon Cameron Randle is Canon to the Ordinary for the Episcopal Diocese of Western Kansas and Vicar of St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Garden City. In addition to his customary parish duties, Fr. Cameron advises, assists, and supports Bishop Mark Cowell in his ministry as diocesan bishop.
Born in the Ozark Mountains of southern Missouri, Fr. Cameron was reared in Ulysses and Liberal, KS. His maternal great-grandfather was the first County Clerk of Grant County. Cameron is a graduate of Liberal High School, where he was elected student body president.
He earned a BA in history and English literature from Oral Roberts University; a Diploma in Anglican Studies from Berkeley Divinity School at Yale; a Master of Divinity from Yale Divinity School; a Juris Doctorate from the University of Tulsa College of Law; and a Certificate in International Human Rights Law & Practice from the London School of Economics.
After a 25-year career in the music industry as a talent manager and record company executive in Nashville, Austin, and L.A., Fr. Cameron was ordained to the diaconate and to the priesthood in the Diocese of Los Angeles by The Rt. Rev. Sergio Carranza, former Bishop of Mexico. He served churches in Virginia and Southern California before returning home to Kansas.
Fr. Cameron is a writer whose work has appeared in Rolling Stone, Billboard, Spin, Interview, and The Christian Century, among other publications. He currently serves on the Public Safety Advisory Board (Police & Fire) for the City of Garden City; the music committee of the annual Tumbleweed Festival; and hosts a monthly conversation called Holy Spirits at Hidden Trails Brewery in Garden City.
